The sick, the persecuted are ignored... the bloated rich gain power and money at the cost of the average citizen. Or are you waiting for Trump's empowered thugs to come knocking on your neighbor's door? Newt gets the full gravity. There is a level of maintaining some personal comportment. Not for me of course, but for others, yes. Re: My freak-out-o-meter needle is in the orange zone - NewtonMP2100 - 09-20-2017 ....I get the gravity of it and feel the same way, however what is the point of freaking out when we can do nothing about it at this point..... ......sure we can protest and write letters, etc....but short of him getting impeached, he is there to stay for 4 years along with all the damage that he is doing.....next election we can vote his a** out but we are stuck with him for now hoping that he is ousted...... Re: My freak-out-o-meter needle is in the orange zone - SteveG - 09-20-2017 But what about the Bowling Green Massacre? Re: My freak-out-o-meter needle is in the orange zone - Ted King - 09-20-2017 Okay, I probably shouldn't have used the phrase "freak out". Maybe I should have said "danger-danger-will-robinson-o-meter". Whatever the terminology, I'm getting enough concerned that I think it's time to adjust my finances just in case. I don't mess with my finances lightly. Re: My freak-out-o-meter needle is in the orange zone - pdq - 09-20-2017 I hear you, Ted. I've been playing it verrry conservatively since Mr. T got elected. I've missed out on much of the run-up since then, but I'm not seeing the increasing profits to justify the current inflated P/E ratio of the market. Over the years, I've had enough of the musical chairs game in my retirement account. Re: My freak-out-o-meter needle is in the orange zone - Dennis S - 09-20-2017 A big recession and market drop is probably the best thing that could happen to the country right now. Re: My freak-out-o-meter needle is in the orange zone - samintx - 09-20-2017 I keep thinking of 45 and N.K. The atomic bombs bursting in air while my portfolio tanks. But I can't sell it off anticipating the possibility. I keep wondering if I 'm too chicken. Listening to Yellen today. An unrelated observation her beautiful graduated Tahitian black pearl necklace. Very costly. It seems likely that the Republicans will find a way to get the money to them but it's still a little iffy. If the market valuations do reflect the expectation of a big tax break for the wealthy, then that is another vulnerability to stock price stability - along with things like a somewhat inflated P/E ratio you mention. It just feels kinda shaky to me.
