You should be able to get the offset, and depth adjusted, with some duct tape, zipties, and epoxy, you'll be all set to go. I remember that device being used in the Simpsons episode when Homer went on disability because he was fat. His work at home job was to press one button repeatedly and even that became too much to handle.
