While I agree the previous name was derogatory, I'm curious where this ends. Vikings are named after a type of people from a specific geographic location. Chiefs... well that should be obvious, especially with the logo. Buccaneers and Raiders promote lawlessness and piracy. Giants are medical condition. Jets promote the use of fossil fuels. Steelers promote a non-renewable resource. Browns are named after a guy with questionable ethics and business practices.
The Washington team name was the equivalent of The Washington Nxxxxxx. Completely racist.

located in Ashburn, VA.

I think Washington Football Team is a perfectly fine name for a team. They should just keep it. IMO.
Whatever the new name is, there will be a segment of people who will be outraged with anything and the media will magnify it to ridiculous proportions for 2 days and then drop it and move on to the next story.
