We could mix it up with a some COVID or Trump, just to keep it fresh.

The 1010 (binary) Commandments.

Only appropriate for private religious schools. Depending in the community, 20% to 29% of families are non-Christian.

English Translation of the Ten Commandments from the original Hebrew in the Bible

1) I am the L-rd your G-d, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

2)You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, nor any manner of likeness of anything that is in heaven above, that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them, nor serve them. For I the L-rd your G-d am a jealous G-d, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children of the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; and showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments.

3)You shall not take the name of the L-rd your G-d in vain; for the L-rd will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.

4)Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto the L-rd your G-d. On it you shall not do any manner of work-you, your son, your daughter, your man-servant, your maid-servant, your cattle, and your stranger that is within your gates. For in six days the L-rd made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; wherefore the L-rd blessed the Sabbath Day, and hallowed it.

5)Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long upon the land which the L-rd your G-d gives you.

6)You shall not murder.

7)You shall not commit adultery.

8)You shall not steal.

9)You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10)You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, his manservant, his maid-servant, his ox, his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.

How does this differ in a meaningful way from the Christian ten commandments?

From the New English Bible, Exodus 20:
1) I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other god to set against me.

2) You shall not make a carved image for yourself nor the likeness of anything in the heavens above, or on the earth below, or in the waters under the earth.
You shall not bow down to them or worship them: for I, the LORD your God, an a jealous god. I punish the children for the sins of the fathers to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me. But I keep faith with thousands, with those who love me and keep my commandments.

3) You shall not make wrong use of the name of the LORD your God; the LORD will not leave unpunished the man who misuses his name.

4) Remember to keep the sabbath day holy. You have six days to labour and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; that day you shall not do any work, you, your son or your daughter, your slave or your slave-girl, your cattle or the alien within your gates; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and on the seventh day he rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and declared it holy.

5) Honour your father and your mother, that you may live long in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

6) You shall not commit murder

7) You shall not commit adultery

8) You shall not steal

9) You shall not give false evidence against your neighbour

10) You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, his slave, his slave-girl, his ox, his all, or anything that belongs to him.

There's been a trend here for some time to make baseless and or false claims just like the Repubs that earn ire here for doing so.

Ok, if emotions are to be accepted as a base, then anybody is free to claim anything and accuracy isn't required.

I looked at the first 15 non-pinned threads. That is all of the threads until I reached one that is about guns from the OP.

One thread was immediately thread-jacked by the current "Guns are my religion" poster.

One had a picture of cowboys holding guns, referring to a TV show, which was on-topic.

One was about weapons for Ukraine, but didn't mention privately owned firearms.

The remaining 12 topics are (at the time of this post) gun-free zones. So they will probably be shot up since they are soft targets.

Maybe you are only interested in the gun-related posts and that is biasing you toward this conclusion?

I dunno. After controlling for satire, sarcasm and dark humor, one may have to follow shorthand call-backs to the original points made before (and repeatedly), but ultimately substantial assertions are backed up.

Well, I obviously was interested in THIS post, and don't believe it was intended to be gun-related, but I DID notice when it took a turn...it is not the first time that has happened. It's only anecdotal, bit I suspect that when it happens, it involves the same narrow cast of characters. I have noticed it on occasion on the other side as well.

I don't click on every thread, and if I were exploring a gun-related thread, noticing that it took a turn to discuss guns would be a nonsequitur.

Always thought not coveting thy neighbor's ass had a completely different meaning…
