Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - Craig - 07-29-2007 Most rental car companies have a listing of the vehicles that they offer. Here is the one from Enterprise. ![]() A full size sedan (Taurus, etc.) should be big enough for a trip of this length and are usually not much more than a standard. If the cost difference is minimal then you would probably be more comfortable in a "Luxury" sedan (Town Car, etc.) Priceline has always treated me well for rental cars. Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - space-time - 07-29-2007 OK, thanks all, I decided: FULL SIZE Just for the fun of it, I took all EMPTY suitcases to the car (Civic 2001) and I was able to to put 2 large, 2 carryon and the stroller in the trunk (I didn't expect that), and 2 other medium suitcases in the back seat, one the floor and one on the seat itself. Looks like there is just about enough room, but I don't think I want to be this crowded, I would rather step up 1-2 levels and get a full size sedan. I am afraid that once the suitcases are full, they won't fit that easily in the trunk. what is the Civic anyway, Compact? and Economy? Thanks and have a good night! Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - Mike Johnson - 07-29-2007 What airport? $15/day is about twice what I pay at LAX for long term parking. Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - space-time - 07-29-2007 JFK. Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - jimbrady - 07-29-2007 I just saw this absurdity the other day. Long term was $10/day a year ago. No inflation, no rise in average wages, but a 50% rise in parking costs. The demand remains high, I'd guess, but maybe not THAT high... My family's going on Wednesday--wanna give us a ride, s-t? 3 adults and one kid. Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - jimbrady - 07-29-2007 Heh--just rented a midsize car in MN for the same price/day as JFK long term parking. Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight. Thanks - StarGlazer - 07-29-2007 Be sure that there are no one way drop off charges on your rental. They can be greater than the rental fees. Re: QUICK PLEASE: How big of a car shoudl I rent? I'd like to make reservations tonight.
