FWIW, if i do a 2 line verizon plan, with a droid and an eris -- 1400 minutes + 5000 messages + email/web + visual voice mail = $195 a month for both lines... personally, i would never use that many texts, so i could knock that down to 1500, but it still leaves me at $185 On Sprint, you could do 2 lines with 1500 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data, unlimited roaming, unlimited calls to "any" mobile phone, with perhaps an Android equipped HTC Hero and a similar Samsung Moment (likely to be upgraded to 2.0) for just $129 per month. Different ones work for some in different areas. You change the APN in settings/general/network/cellular data network. The APN is the first thing listed under "Cellular Data". http://moodswitcher.blogspot.com/2009/06/iphone-at-vvm-mms-apn-settings.html Re: So the cheapest monthly rate for an iPhone is..... - guitarist - 12-20-2009 TMobile, anyone? I'm currently with AT&T, very recently, but for about two years I used a jailbroken unlocked iPhone with TMobile and paid a fraction, and got nearly all the same benefits. I didn't have to have a full on data plan, I did just as well with one of their cheaper data packages, that I hijacked to use with the iPhone, which they unofficially support. No one is forced to pay AT&T to enjoy the benefits of an iPhone. Re: So the cheapest monthly rate for an iPhone is..... - Done - 12-20-2009 I pay 135.00 taxes and everything for 3 phones, 1 iPhone and 2 regular phones. I have one data package, 200 text and 700 minutes. Most of my calls are AT&T to AT&T so I even have plenty of rollovers from that. I was on tmobile with a jailbroke phone and it worked fine but internet was dog slow, with the 3gs and AT&T I feel like I have broadband at all times (I have movies on Mobile Me and with good quality and they load up over 3gs in less than a minute, not saying it downloads the whole movie it will start playing). Tmobile definitely gives you a better package but mine worked out that I don't need all that tmobile gives so I only pay 10.00 more a month and internet flies compared to tmobile. But you know how people complain about AT&T so I would check out your area first, my area has no problems.
