Madman Across the Water is my favorite but when Yellow Brick Road came along the Top 40 really showed up... Tossed him aside then although this late effort with Leon Russell has been both surprising and good! Re: Just saw Elton John - Rick-o - 05-04-2011 Tell me he did tiny dancer! He HAD to do that one! (one of my favorite EJ tunes). Re: Just saw Elton John - Black - 05-04-2011 Linked above: He played in front of a sold out crowd. Included in the set list: all the essential hits, like "Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting" and "Tiny Dancer." Re: Just saw Elton John - Rick-o - 05-04-2011 Black wrote: Cool! I admit I didn't read the link. Thanks for confirming. Re: Just saw Elton John - mrbigstuff - 05-04-2011 was Kiki Dee there? (I know, I know) Re: Just saw Elton John - ztirffritz - 05-04-2011 If you look at the tour locations he specifically went after smaller 'rural' venues. Instead of Seattle, Portland or Vancouver he played Yakima WA. Instead of Pittsburgh or Philly, he played in Reading PA. Re: Just saw Elton John - MacArtist - 05-04-2011 I want to see Elton in concert before he retires. I'm jealous, BernDog! Re: Just saw Elton's John - NewtonMP2100 - 05-04-2011 .....uh, you saw Elton's John....?? Re: Just saw Elton John - BernDog - 05-04-2011 RAMd®d wrote: I think tickets were $85-125. GeneL wrote: I was impressed at the quality of the sound. Plenty loud, but plenty of bottom end, so you didn't feel like you were being blown away. I was in the 20th row, and the volume was pretty tolerable. DP wrote: He played a three song block from Madman (including Madman) as well as a three song block from the new album. Rick-o wrote: Just for you. He asked if you were there, and was disappointed when we told him you weren't. ![]() As was quoted from the link, he played all the big hits and a lot of the medium hits (three hours isn't enough to hit them all). "Your Song" was his encore, but I missed it to beat the traffic (and I was ok with that). We knew the setlist (insider info), so we knew that was it after that. |
