I've tried the car rental discount and every single time it either hasn't applied to the car I was renting or they recalculated from a new starting price effectively nearmost nullifying the discount.

Neither Avis nor AARP are on any sort of favorites list for me.
Do the discount or don't do the discount but blatant deceit is for the scum of the earth.
I've been asking how old you have to be for the senior discount since I turned 20.
It was a joke and a conversation starter back then.
Now it is just an old habit.

Amtrak does discount for seniors. I have an Amtrak Guest Rewards card, so usually pay with points; no discount for those. But they don't cost me anything.

I know this was already confirmed, but I'm adding another confirmation. Members of our group of fogies use those lifetime passes each year when we vacation on Chincoteague Island Va, to get into Assateague Island National Seashore.

Yup, all the old farts at my sportsmans club have the lifetime passes. They use the HECK out of them.

Quick Google search led me to multiple sites with variations of this same cut and pasted list. Who knows how outdated or valid this list is.
