The world Sam and Swampy grew up in is changing and that's upsetting. From their posts both would seem to be on their own without partners and with assets to defend and shelter.
I don't envy them and suspect that any suggestions made that might lead to different insights would be rejected out of hand.
I feel a real pity for both of them. I know that will piss 'em off but it's my take on this whole thing.
I'm only somewhat younger and could as easily have found myself in that spot but I was lucky? enough to have a wastrel son. That means I have a 11-13 year old football practice to run tomorrow night and a new 13-16 year old basketball team to coach next year.
I couldn't be happier (for myself) about that involvement with my grandson and all the other kids his age. It's truly rejuvenating.
