(Manually install to prevent the toolbar from installing, block all communications with the mothership, block other servers to prevent wasting bandwidth on their streaming videos and ads, disable plugins, customize plugins, tweak the interface, re-do the blacklist, change the ports...) Re: what is your favorite torrent client? - decay - 10-21-2009 this reminds me - i missed the Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror episide on Sunday... off to the torrentz! Re: what is your favorite torrent client? - Mac1337 - 10-21-2009 I have never used torrent. What am I missing? Vuze. - RAMd®d - 10-21-2009 I use the last version before 4.x. I like the left side of the interface with the torrent stats. I never bother with the other stuff. I've tried all of the clients mentioned so far, Transmission being the second favorite. It tends to slow everything down unless I tweak the settings, and Vuse (Still Azureus in the menubar) doesn't seem to be a problem. There's a myriad of setting for Azureus and I have no idea what most of them mean. I just click a bunch of torrents, and they roll in. I normally tape for 2 hours to account for football running long but in this case it wasn't enough. I was p*ssed. Ranted for a bit and then realized that I could probably use Transmission to download a torrent. Up until now my ONLY use of Transmission had been to get the last few episodes of "Defying Gravity" since ABC won't say if or when they're going to air them. I didn't know if something like "Cold Case" would be available (since it's a mainstream show) so I did a search and there it was. Like you I'm a big fan of "Cold Case", as a matter of fact I think it's my favorite show. |
