ice cream production at home - BillMac - 09-30-2010 So I did make a batch of maple bacon ice cream. The flavor was good, bacon-y and maple-y throughout, but it was a little too salty. I need to tweak that recipe a bit and try again. Tonight's flavor is caramel apple pie with graham cracker bits! In the works: nutella, chocolate-banana, vanilla extreme Re: ice cream production at home - WHiiP - 09-30-2010 My favorite is cinnamon . . . followed very closely by ginger . . . (waiting for the predictable repartee regarding "ginger") :damnyou: Re: ice cream production at home - BillMac - 09-30-2010 straight-up cinnamon? or is there any chunky mix? ginger would be terrific with pieces of candied ginger in it. I made 2 batches of "hot" chocolate ice cream. dark chocolate w/ chipotle powder, cinnamon, and candied hot peppers. YUM! Re: ice cream production at home - WHiiP - 09-30-2010 Straight up cinnamon. You might could add some crushed hazelnuts for some chunkiness... :dunno: Re: ice cream production at home - BillMac - 09-30-2010 that gives me some ideas! Re: ice cream production at home - OWC Jamie - 09-30-2010 You're gonna get your taste buds all tied up in knots and they'll never be the same. Re: ice cream production at home - mrbigstuff - 09-30-2010 Mexican chocolate with cinnamon is INSANELY great, and I don't even like plain chocolate ice cream very much. Chocolate orange, again, insane. Maple Walnut, great. Strawberry, the king of ice creams. Re: ice cream production at home - dmann - 09-30-2010 Ummm. This thread is worthless without recipes. DM Re: ice cream production at home - BillMac - 09-30-2010 TTIWWOR??? Re: ice cream production at home - beagledave - 09-30-2010 Guinness Ice Cream. http://www.icecreamgeek.com/?p=707 I added about 3/4 tablespoon of molasses to the recipe. I also use a little xanthan gum as a stabilizer Out of this word taste. |
