San Francisco 9:30 am - jonny - 09-09-2020 ![]() Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - deckeda - 09-09-2020 Wow Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - lost in space - 09-09-2020 Damn! Looks painful to be out in that stuff. Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - jonny - 09-09-2020 It's actually not that smoky at ground level. You can barely smell it. But the light is like twilight on Mars. Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - NewtonMP2100 - 09-09-2020 ....it's twilight....time..... Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - GGD - 09-09-2020 On the plus side, it's blocking the sun and keeping the temperatures down, finally got the house cooled off with the windows open overnight when the temps dropped to the high 50s and are still in the low 60s after "sunrise". Not sure which fire is causing this, the three big lightning fires from over 3 weeks ago are almost out (83%-95% contained). The newest big fire is the Creek fire near Fresno, 163K acres and 0% contained, that's my best guess at the cause for the smoke. Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - jdc - 09-09-2020 there was also a burner up past Sacramento, that looked like this yesterday -- pano goes from south to west. Sun had just peaked out behind smoke when I took this. 10 minutes before is was all dark yellow. seems to have quieted down, but maybe smoke is just reaching u... saw Oroville and Paradise (the awful Camp fire was a couple of years ago) are under evac orders ![]() Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - hal - 09-09-2020 Mars, 2084 Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - davester - 09-09-2020 This is so weird. At my house in Berkeley its currently noon but feels like 5 am on Mars. This is 9 am from my front yard: ![]() Re: San Francisco 9:30 am - August West - 09-09-2020 Well, I guess stocking up pn masks had a fringe benefit. Good luck, Bay Area!! |
