Given that proof of vaccination may be required for certain activities and travel, and the genuine certificates would be very easy to counterfeit...

A smart certification system would rely on a barcode system that, when scanned, can confirm that the bearer has received a vaccination.

Sure.
I think any 10 year old kid with decent computer skills could make a convincing cert with minimal effort just based on the pics that are circulating online.

What certificates? I have a 2” x 3” card with the type of vaccine and its lot number with a space for me to print out my name. It might fly with my home clinic’s doctor but that’s about it.

DITTO! Except in our case the name info was left for us to fill in. As positive proof of vaccination these will be worthless.

This is the form/card I was given with my first shot; all the info was filled in by the clinic, not me.
