does anyone know why in this picture (BW warning http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0812/happyla_jurasevich_big.jpg) there are 3-4 horizontal bands across the Moon?

It's amazing you can even see the moon in LA with all of the light pollution there.
