Apple TV Sales Triple

Bolstered by a big sales increase, Apple's happy little hobby keeps plugging along.

Poor Apple. They're doomed!

Based on the complete LACK of advertising for the product (that I've seen, anyway), they must have tripled a sales of 5 units, to 15 units...

They could be doing SO much more with that product...

There are more than 15 Apple TV "units" in your zip code. How many zip codes are there?

Thought I'd read Apple categorizes ATV sales with the iPhone ... don't remember why. But if it got a bump from rentals, as suggested, then surely it could get a bigger bump from opening it up to more formats.

There's this ad, from last April, maybe. I remember seeing it on TV lots of times.

If you want t real answer to that, I can fire up my FileMaker solution at work. I have all the US zip codes loaded in there. Wanna really know how many?

:ohsnap:

A complete lack of actual numbers makes the story almost worthless.

I see why some people like it if they are iTunes customers and have a computer set up as a media center. I think it would get a lot more penetration if it had just a little more functionality.

seemed to me like it was a solution to a problem that only a handful of households were having.

and, as we have read on this forum in the past, there are other means to achieve the same result.
