Deficits don't matter!

Next: Forcing Powell out so Trump's stooge can drop interest rates on this massive steaming pile of rich man's debt.

But, Bezo's ability to rent Venice for his next wedding will not be hindered.

A nine-hour "protest" speech was worthless. Hakeem is no Nancy - never will be. NeXXXXXXXXXt!

The group formerly known as the Democratic Party is dead in the water -  rudderless, powerless, leaderless, and adrift in very stormy seas.

Out of over 250 'Democratic' congress critters, there's not one leader to step forward in the bunch? It's pathetic - and we only have ourselves to blame for electing them.

Yes.

It's all the democrat's fault.

Republican deficit hawks lined up to kiss the ring after token resistance. What happened to that "leadership?"

Evil.

The Medicaid cuts target states that expanded the program under the ACA, so that is mostly blue states.  Trumps top 10 supporting states won't be impacted much. California gets clobbered.   The cuts to healthcare and nutrition assistance will occur in drips over years around the country.   Real pain to real people but designed to strategically target the poorest Americans, who as a group don't vote much.

They timed the healthcare and other cuts to start after the mid-terms, so if their faithful only watch Fox, who knows if they will even realize what’s happened until it’s too late.

This is indeed pure evil.

The cuts to Medicaid/Medicare will likely kill people. https://prospect.org/politics/2025-07-03...-medicaid/

... and seniors, unlike the young and the poor, DO vote. I really hope they vote these frackers out in '26.

Edit: just how evil is this bill? Here it is in charts: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025...harts.html

... "In my 50 years of following tax and budget policy, I don’t believe I have seen another piece of legislation that would have such broad and deep impacts on virtually every American. No important social welfare program like Medicaid has ever been rolled back to this extent. The tax changes will also exacerbate income inequality. It is a result that should embarrass the Republicans — and may well come back to haunt them in 2026 and 2028."

Evil. .

And it's been given permission to exist and flourish openly, in the harsh light of day, to be accepted, embraced, and normalized by what may be a growing majority.

I'm less and less hopeful for the mid-terms.

Most MAGAts will still not head warnings, since they seem to be clueless to what's already happened.

They're willing to 'tough it out' till American is Great Again because that's what patriots do.

But there are millions who sat 2024 out for whatever reason, who aren't tied to the Trump Tracks.

They and any disillusioned and betrayed CFDT supporters have to be motivated in '28 or Democracy will never recover to even a semblance of what it was.
