When the new Mods get onboard...
#11
I guess today's the day.
It would be great if the Mods were in different time zones as far apart as possible for more coverage so all heck doesn't break loose when the sun goes down.

In closing, be wary of Forum Mods in "cliquey" friend circles. I rather a Forum Mod be a 100% impartial monotone boring AF MRF member with no friends. LOL

...will she (wink wink) be able to just delete these spam threads? More importantly, is there a way to allow only registered users to post or even view? We have tens of regular members, but Guests in the several hundreds.   .

I've mentioned this a few times now, starting with, or maybe before my mention of the Bot-Squad, or similar.

A rag tag group armed with elite powers to instantly remove bots and SPAM posts from view, to be dealt with appropriately by UltraMod.

Also, it really pisses me off that one has to make some declaration as to gender.

There's no need to know, other than marketing, and there's no need for any member or web-crawler to know that.

Actually, there's no need for any member to see the breadth of information accrued and displayed by the site, of another member, and certainly not for web crawlers to see — keep our profiles private, at least from the unregistered public.

You know, if it were possible, I'd be happy to be a mod with limited powers, to just delete and ban these spammers and their threads.

Exactly.

Well, hide a SPAM thread, at least.

Those threads so hidden can answer to a higher authority for banning.

Basically, a Janitor Mod, to keep the place clean, while another sorts the trash for possible errors, and a third takes out the trash.

Sort of a three-part checks and balances, so those scared of cliques can rest assured no Mods will form a cabal.

I think things will be in place soon, but no idea what exactly will be able to be done, but spam/bot squashing should be top of the list.

If all of us face Woodstock IL and say 10 "Thank you Larrys" Troy (assuming he's still with OWC) will immediately remember that this forum exists and promote RgG, Clay, and bfd to moderator. Please report back once you've done so so we can track this.
