Best *Mac* Antivirus program? (just to keep from infecting PC's...)

It was an autostart worm BTW. Completely benign on the Mac for the last decade. QT 3 I think fixed it.

I read it typed either here, or on dealmac, that you (not you personally) shouldn't even bother with keeping PC machines virus free. Leave it up to them.

In other words, these programs don't run and don't infect your Mac. Why bother doing the work for the unwashed PC users? They can defend themselves.

Or, something like that anyway...

Me, I wouldn't bother with scanning anything. Those windows machines should have anti-virus software installed and up to date. Those apps should catch anything that I might pass along.

Didn't say I was worried about them reproducing on the Macs.... just being passed along (same file that got infected at home, being attached to an email from work, sent to another PC user).

Mostly institutional paranoia...
Think of it as a "feel good" placeob that also happens to do something useful (kill PC viruses before they're passed on).

AND, if it is proven that I, as a contractor, infected the company network through my not having current anti-virus software on my machines used for my work their, either my own, or ones supplied by them, I am required to pay for the recovery effort.

So yeah, just because you can't catch a terminal disease doesn't mean you shouldn't practice good hygiene.

maybe virus protection has gotten better - but isn't it terribly annoying??

i love the idea that someone would point the finger at someone else for their infected pc.

YOU! YOU DON'T USE VIRUS PROTECTION! (...and neither do i....)
