After sleeping on it a night, how do you feel about the new Apple products?

I see the new Imacs as a major downgrade just to get thin Edges.
Big deal. No optical drive, I5 instead of I7.
Apple It's not a fricking Iphone.
On the iphone and Ipad side isn't everyone getting tired of the $100 per memory upgrade when they should have a sd card slot like the rest of the world?

Ironically, the price of the 13" MBPR meant we are getting a 15" MBPR. At education pricing, the same machines configured at 8/256 is literally only $100 difference. For those 5-$20 bills, you get:

1) Quad core CPU instead of dual core

2) Dedicated graphics card

3) Much bigger screen

The Mac mini is nice, too, and will be in our purchasing future.

The iMac and 13" MBPR, not so much.

Ok, so we're overwhelmingly negative on the new iMac. Other than not buying them, how do we convey that sentiment to Apple?

just checked the Apple online store.
the new Imacs are shown saying available in December but you cannot order them now. The 2011 Imacs are no longer on the web site other than in refurbs. So I guess apple doesn't want to sell custom configured any Imacs in the next 30 days? I might have ordered the old 27" to replace my 2009 Imac if they had the custom configuration available.
I won't be ordering new one. No optical drive, no firewire and card slot on the back are killers for me.
