I really dislike this airline policy

Would a cash back card have earned you the same amount of money that could have been used for tickets (amongst any other purchase)?

Z-- understood but I was paying via CC for many of those things anyway so the fee is just part of living in a plastic society. Would I have saved it if I didn't pay with a CC or would the retailer have just made a little more profit? (and there is nothing wring with that profit either)

Silvarios - possibly, I have used cash back cards in the past and the perks of the FF card outweighed it (for example - 40000 miles to take the card out. A RT flight that I use it for is 35,000 miles or $750; no cashback card is going to give me the equivalent to tai out their card.


This may not be for everyone, but given the right circumstances it also might be worth very minimal hassle.
