An easy way to get my 60G iPod photo to play through a non-sync'd Mac?

No, if you set it up to sync manually, you will also be able to play music on it through another computer's iTunes.

I started to do that, and as I thought, iT tells me "You have changed the settings for the iPod... Would you like to apply these settings?"

If I click Apply, it will sync the iPod to this computer, which is what I'm going to avoid.

Also, sharing my music Mac is not a very satisfactory option as Front Row will give me some control but will not let me access my select various playlists.

If I could stream my G5 iMac library to my AlMac without Front Row, I could probably control the whole library with my 'Phone and Remote.app.

It looks like a selector switch and a long patch cord are in my future.

Apply the settings. Manual is manual--if you apply, it is manual that is applied.

Works just like I want.

Now then, will this change the setting on my mainMac, where connecting the 'Pod syncs automatically?
