And we're no closer to deciding.

And won't be for a while.

And that's OK. But her "need" for a new MBA has begun to fade I think. We still have a Late '08 MBP.

So get the MacBook Air for portability—whether to the couch or the airport—and get a 27-inch monitor (or two inexpensive 19s) for when it's sitting on the desk.

It's becoming difficult to justify keeping the MBP. I don't ... need it to the extent I perhaps did last year. Convinced myself I'd rather have, and be OK with, an iPad. Still not sure about that.

But the wife could use an upgrade on both computer and screen, and she's actually earning money with it. Another option would be just get a big monitor for the MBP if portability isn't paramount.
