ADAPT or die?!....another Radioshack clearance deal....

I agree, that seems to be stock marketing crap as many sites have the same description, or a slight variation where they mention the lightning fast speeds of 802.11a. Lightning fast? 802.11a is rated for 54 Mbit/s, so is 802.11g, so let me do the math…carry the one…divide by 6…multiply by 17.234…calculating…calculating…calculating…the same speed.

NewtonMP2100 (that Newton was an excellent product by the way), I am not picking on you, not in the least. The deal is a fine one if you have a 360 without WiFi, but I find the marketing of this product, even in the context of 2005 or 2006 to be very strange.

Microsoft, not so good at marketing, and the 360 has to be one of the most expensive consoles of all time (in the context of additional HD optical drives, WiFi adapters, hard drive slab upgrades, mandatory Gold Live service if you want Netflix, and motion add ons), but it sure is a popular device.

Thanks again for the post. Many will find it truly useful, and I, as a 360-less household still enjoyed the unintentional comedy of MS marketing.

....don't feel that you are picking on me.....when I posted the description, I didn't even read it but you are correct in pointing out the 'new' wording.....

....as you stated, it is not the 'fastest' wireless adapter but a 'suitable' alternative for some who may not willing to pay for the new one which can cost $90-$100....that plus it was 'made' for the xbox, so hopefully will be more compatible and have less issues than a non-xbox one (though that may not be the case).....it was the cheapest price that I've seen it, so I decide to pass along the possible deal to anyone who might consider one (if they could find it)....

....cheers....!!

Agreed. Many people only have 802.1g routers anyway, so no need to pick up the drastically more expensive N capable adapter.

For those wanting a more universal or faster 802.11n solution, look for an Ethernet Bridge (aka Game Adapter) or a cheap router that can be set to Bridge mode. $50-$100, works with anything with an Ethernet port.
