Best Store bought Pies?
#21
Make your own. Very easy and there is nothing wrong with using store bought crust. (or broth but that is a different topic)

I don't think so, Trouble. As with everything else in life, there's usually a noticeable difference between the best and everything else.

OTOH, I wish there was a way to send everyone a piece of the pies that Mavis made for Thanksgiving dinner, this year. They have always been wonderful, but this year they were absolutely perfect!

Just enough of the spices, but not too much and not too sweet, just sweet enough. A perfect blend of tastes and textures.

Who says there's no such thing as perfection? They obviously haven't had a slice of Mavis" pumpkin pie.

Happy Shopping Day, tomorrow!

Mavis just read this and was chuckling at the thought.

Sorry, no pie store…

but if you want to swing down to Dana Point tomorrow, we'll save you a piece. RSVP!

Sure there is, but a homemade pie with a store bought crust (Yes, I know what I just typed Smile) is much better than a store bought pie or no pie at all. The overwhelmingly amount of flavor will come from the filling. Not a thing wrong with using a store bought crust.

As the French would say, (basically translated) "there's no arguing taste."

Enjoy! (and now I'm going to the kitchen and have myself a piece of Mavis' pie)
