What panel in the LG? The viewing angle makes me think some sort of vertical alignment (PVA/MVA).

Ah man, homework. I'll go ahead and assume the specs are wrong and this panel is TN or the specs are right and the panel is VA. Flip a coin to decide.

Sounds like IPS gives a better picture regardless. Is that right? So maybe I will hOld out for an IPS display. Probably go for the 2311. Anywhere other than Dell Or eBay to get a good price on these?

IPS is good, some PVA/MVA panels are also pretty good, TN is by far the worst.
