Agreed on the wicking need. Costco sells tops and bottoms from a brand called Paradox that are reasonable. I use them all winter on my rides which range from 20-50+ miles. Silk long undies are also nice for days when it's not as cold and you want less bulk. Campmor, etc. have these.
