This is the stuff that makes me feel so dumb...

Highly confusing. The phone says "paired but not connected". The iMac says paired and connected and ready to go but all I can do is send a file from the iMac but no option to receive a file from the phone. Again, the phone says it sent the file to the iMac.
OK, will try it again tomorrow. Too much screwing around. Thanx, all, for the help.

Did you follow any of the above advice? Can't tell from your response.
Yes,making sure the file sharing checkbox is checked. I had done this before so that's why I was so frustrated. Plus, I need to print the images for a client meeting this AM so I am in a hurry. I will investigate this further when I have the time. Thanx, all, for the help.

Great example here of how people get help on this forum.

Sarcasm? No, I think he was being serious.

Sometimes, not always but sometimes, when one posts a legitimate question here out of ten responses nine will be snarky commentary that are neither informative nor helpful but are occasionally genuinely funny and one will be an actual answer to the OP's question. This thread was not one of those threads.
Also was not an example of getting or giving help, but rather the opposite. The OP went with his own workaround rather than learning how to get his BT transfer working right. Conflicting advice didn't help.
I'm not sure what's more depressing-- the way this thread went, or that someone could read it and think it was a good example of a helpful thread. Point taken, but DP was able to use john-o's advice to solve his immediate problem: How to get the pics from the phone to the computer, thus making DP's need to solve his BT connectivity issue less pressing. *sigh* That was not john-o's advice-- re-read the thread. john-o, apparently not being familiar with BT transfer, encouraged the OP to go with his own kludge rather than get this working right.

Brother Chakravartin is right. Your bluetooth file sharing checkbox must be check off in order to send files to the Mac from your phone.

???
It sounds like he sent them just fine-- he just didn't know where or how to look for them. Am I the only one who can see all the posts in this thread? Is this some sort of elaborate practical joke?

I understand. That was not my advice though-- when you get a chance take another look at my first 2 responses.

I call Unecessary Snarkiness on Black; 15 yards!!

Sorry, but that was exactly my advice. I grant you that DP mentioned it himself first, but I certainly (and intentionally) suggested he follow it! To me, and to DP as well apparently, the point was to get the damn photos transferred already, not to waste a bunch of time dicking around with the BT transfer settings! Sometimes you gotta just get the job done, and not waste time trying to fix something just because it should work!

Sheesh...
