Trackpads
#1
i starting up the learning curve on Mountain Lion via Pogue's Missing Manual. I've yet to put ML on my iMac but my new MBA has it and i found using the iPadish gestures on the trackpad kind of fun and efficient. i also think keeping track of separate gestures on the MMouse might be annoying so i'm starting to jones a bit for a trackpad for the iMac.

there's a Apple Magic Trackpad. recommendations?

I'm very happy with my Apple Magic Trackpad. I keep it on the left side of the keyboard. My Evoluent VerticalMouse 3 is on the right side of the keyboard.

I end up using the mouse more frequently than the Trackpad, and I enjoy having both.

interesting! that vertical mouse has been on my amazon wish list for a couple of years now but way too pricey to pull the trigger. i'd also appreciate your thoughts on that.

I've posted my thoughts on the Evoluent mouse in this thread from November 2011:

The mouse is pricey. (I forget if I mentioned in that thread that I bought a used on on ebay.)

If the current Evoluent mouse failed, I suspect I would spend the money to buy another one.

BTW, I also really like the Logitech portable mouse that John Dough recommends. I keep it at my office to use with my MBA. Again, the combination of mouse with a trackpad seems to lesson the RSI factor.

I wish I could find a better keyboard for the iMac. While i have a Logitech keyboard with the angled keys, it didn't have the built-in USB ports that the Apple keyboard has. I give up the angled wrists for an extra, accessible USB port.
