Chantix, anyone have info?
#11
The hypnosis worked for me with just one session. I have never felt the craving for a cigarette since. It was as if a switch went off in my brain from "smoker" to "non". Can't stand the smell whereas, before when I tried to quit, I loved it. I never had any physical withdrawal symptoms and I was a pack a day smoker for over 30 years. I know of 3 other people who have gone to see her. Two still don't smoke. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law still does.

Thanks for the responses. She has to put up with me so she's naturally irritable anyway but lately there been a decided shortening of temper and noticeable increase in irritability. I suspect the meds are the cause. We'll talk with the doc about it and maybe look for alternatives.

Chantix works for about half the patients that try to quit.

Some docs are trying combination therapy with Chantix and other drugs like wellbutrin/buprorpion. That combination seems to help some patients where Chantix alone does not.

Keep at it, even if she's the unlucky half. It's worth it in the long-run to get off the nicotine train.
