We'll see. Supposed to be an El Niño winter; dryer and warmer. We'll see...

The beach is very busy on the weekends but the water is pretty cold. It won't be summer for another month and even then it stays cold thanks to the Humboldt Current https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humboldt_Current I wouldn't swim in it but a lot of people do albeit they don't go far from shore.
