How to get around Amazon Prime’s new $119 fee
#21
So Prime membership goes up to $119 on June 16.

AMZ says my I'll be charged $99 in August for a renewal.

Does anybody else see a $99 fee for they membership renewing after June? I doubt I'm getting a deal; probably AMZ hasn't updated the Prime Membership info for my page.

Pretty much the entire universe offers free shipping at $35. Including Amazon non-Prime.

They do....but it takes forever. Do any of them offer 2 day shipping for free?
I wouldn't know because I pretty much buy everything through my Amazon Prime membership. Which I'm keeping.

I only order things from Amazon that I don’t need quickly. So I get free shipping on everything and it generally comes within a week. If the order is coming from a third party seller, it sometimes comes within 2 or 3 days. I don’t care about any of the other perks or Prime membership.

One thing I like about Prime is that if a package is late, I can chat with customer service and they will give me a month for free. I have done this numerous times over the years and usually get 4-6 months free throughout the year. The chat session only takes 5 minutes or less too.

I do this too. There is a limit though, you can only get 12 months, so if you get lucky, you double the prime membership to 2 years for the price of one. Also with video, music, some kindle books, photo storage, etc. the prime membership is still a very good value.

I deal with the cost of Amazon Prime by not having it.

Me too. Haven't used it ever, and haven't missed it ever. I avoid Amazon when I can. The few times a year when I can't, so be it.

If you have a kid in college, you can have them sign up and you can glog on for, I believe, $49. If you do pay for prime, should consider using the music service, it is nice. Also, the streaming on prime is good as well. Watching The Expanse on prime now. Very well done.
