iPhone 12 Pro: 256 or 512 GB?
#21
LOL.. I'm trying to decide between 64gb and 128GB. My original SE only has 16gb now and it still has a little room, but the 128gb is only 50-dollars more than the 64gb. Just not sure I really need the storage.

cbelt,

That's if you trust the could system and whether or not it is suitable for backing up everythingt you have on the phone. That isn't necessarily the case. iCloud can't even sync contacts properly between three Macs, an iPhone and a tablet. Something like that should be dead simple and reliable. It isn't. Far from. If Apple's cloud systems can't get that right, I can't trust them as the only backup for anything else, especially anything on my computers or phone.

This. I myself got the 512GB, because in my experience, one can never have too much storage. I like to have my entire music and photo library on my phone, and do not trust ANY cloud options as being safe storage.
That may be true, but a phone is definitely not a safe storage media. One drop (or theft) and everything is gone. All phones should be backed up to at least two redundant backups, preferably at least one hardware, not cloud, based .

Already done -- I back up the phone to my Mac Pro, which itself has a backup. And while you're right that a phone is not a safe storage media, the chance of my dropping the phone or it being stolen is virtually nil. It is on my person at all times, if it isn't being charged or backed up, and is now inside a battery case to protect against drops/breakage. It is possible that the phone itself could just die or malfunction, but that's what backups are for.
