Any way to attach Apple USB SuperDrive to iPad to play movies ? ? ?

We got rid of the VCR/DVD player ~7 years ago. Spousal unit chucks everything in sight, so she'll toss a goodwill DVD find in no time, and I'll end end up having to buy four of 'em. Just looking for something to hold her over until we get the cMP's in the useful column again....

Is there such a thing as an interface for connecting an external USB/FW computer DVD/RW to a TV so you can control it like w/ the DVD app on the Mac?

If it were me, I'd tell spousal unit that if she wants to be tided over until you get a machine that can play a DVD, then she had better not toss the DVD player.
