Asleep at the Wheel was a swing band that used to play at a local club. I may have seen them once.

I remember some friends having their eponymous album back in college, but never saw them myself. Did see Dan Hicks who also played some in that Western Swing vernacular.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to infer that they were only a "local" band, but they seemed to play often locally.
