In his mind he follows every commandment with "When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything."

PeterB,

Oh, just wait until someone requests the school post the seven fundamental tenets of The Satanic Temple. After all, The Satanic Temple is recognized as a church by the IRS and the Federal Court System. Smile

God.

As my lawyer uncle used to say.. it's the law in 49 states.

Anyway, thanks a lot Louisiana.

Now South Carolina will want this too.

Don't look at me, I didn't vote for the jack@ass. And apparently there's similar stuff brewing in TX, UT, and OK.

And it's VERY clear that this move was based on the perception that it will eventually go to SCOTUS, who will rule in his favor. With this particular SCOTUS, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

I dunno if SCOTUS would go along with this. I'm not sure this on the Federalist Society wish list. There's no money in it. There is outrage value for marketing purposes, but like abortion, the dog is not supposed to catch the car.

If it keeps them in power by getting them elected, there's money in it. $$$

I could imagine them going with a lame states rights argument. Or soft pedaling this notion that these are universal principles found in many religions, or just going whole hog with Alito and Thomas and others on "the founders wanted us to be a Christian nation."

No they didn't of course but we've lost the plot a bit lately.
