So what are the plans for a NEW iSight?

Take the tape out and the camcorder will realize it is in video monitor mode and will not turn off itself.

I have tried this and it has not worked. Do you mean leave the tape door open?

I have tried this and it has not worked. Do you mean leave the tape door open?
I've heard that this works too. Or just put the camera on RECORD and then PAUSE it so it does not wear down the heads.

EDIT: isn't there an Power Savings settings on your camera???
