[quote wms]Apple to turn on 3G and Stereo Bluetooth, both of which are already incorporated in the iPhone but purposely crippled.
do you have any proof of this? stereo bt maybe, but 3G? doesn't 3G use a different hardware than EDGE?

Good thing, too. Don't expect to see it enabled until the battery is stronger. The reason current iPhones don't have 3G enabled is because 3G is a Power Hog.
Consumers would and reviewers would have killed the iPhone had it been released with a battery not robust enough to support all that functionality plus 3G. When you see a stronger battery in the iPhone, you'll see 3G, and not until then.

Somebody is smoking crunch.
While the A2DP BT profile can be added via firmware, their will be no 3G in the current 'Phones. There is no 3G radio inside. It's not a matter of telling the current Edge device to "go 3G".
That would be like announcing that Apple will tun on the C2D in the G5 Macs.
I don't know why Apple hasn't yet enabled A2DP. Maybe they're working on Apple branded stereo headphones.
While I'd like to see a 64G 'Phone, I doubt that even the touch will get that. Too pricey is my guess.
I'd bet those 64G modules will show up in an UltraLight.
Or-- how 'bout a 64-128G 'Phone Tablet? 8-10" screen, lots of room for the virtual keyboard, surfing, and you have (nearly) constant Internet access with Edge, 3G, and WiFi. I wouldn't want another subscription, but no PCIsomething/Express slot needed for a card.
Then bring it home and dock it.

And that should be Apple's Ad campaign, too.
