The sweeping is really superfluous, but it wouldn't be the same without it.

And when did curling come to the national attention to the point of becoming an Olympic sport?

It didn't exist back when I used to watch the Olympics in the 70s.

I can't believe NBC is wasting airtime on it. What's next, snow writing?

It's a rock.

Somehow, that makes more sense to me than a tub.

I'm thinking some little kid in Canada too poor to buy skates pulls a Tom Sawyer and swindles everyone into buying his "sport" as an ancient relic of his Scottish heritage.

I really got into the men's match between the USA and Sweden which the USA won. Pretty cool how they can slide the stone to almost any spot they want. Somewhat like bowling but on ice.

This is a good enough reason to watch for me:

(I call them the "Hot Curlers". My wife thought that was funny.)

I actually have been enjoying watching the matches. It looks like it would be a hell of a lot of fun after drinking a 6 pack.

Blame Canada! Curling became an Olympic sport at the Calgary Olympics.

First they corner the market on the exporting of ice... now this.

Those of you who admit that you voluntarily watch curling and claim that you enjoy it: you are scary people.
