The 5-yr old is fascinated with volcanoes. Got recommendations?

Unfortunately, long-range travel isn't in the cards. We have the time off from work available but not the money. I've read the suggestions and I'm nodding my head, and yet every year we wind up spending time with other family instead of doing something for just us and the kids. And on some level, that's just wrong.

threeprong, it makes me happy that you thought of that as it was the very first thing that came to my mind as well. I must admit that I didn't expect to find it in the first 3 posts in this thread, though...LOL!
