Screaming window contractor

Batting .1000 is pretty poor, even when dealing with contractors.

[quote wurm]You mean for once in my life I've been lucky? We're batting .1000 on the contractors we've hired for work on our house. And there have been several.
I would guess some very even multiple of 10.

Oh yeah...oops. Then skip the decimal point. Guess I should stick with all good, no bad.

Ah, yes. I have called two contractors in the past year, had conversations with them, and then they never did what they were supposed to do. Luckily, the jobs were not started so my house is not in disarray, and no money was exchanged thank God. Another guy put in a backsplash for us a few months ago, I was pretty high on him as he did what he said he would do...but then he charged me an extra 200 bucks for "extra time" that he did not mention anywhere along the way.

Sigh.

Sometimes I think you're better off learning this stuff yourself.

Yeah, this guy makes little "mistakes" up front that become extra charges down the road too.
I consider that normal contractor behavior, and find it comforting.
