I like how people who always accuse Obama of being "educated and priviledged" can never spell privileged correctly. Just because you have not had the same kind of education does not mean that "other" person is elitist. Especially if the other person knows well enough to proofread before opening his or her mouth.

He is certainly a member of the elite, but "elitist"? I think not.

There is also the semantics of "unprivileged" vs. "underprivileged".

Obama certainly didn't grow up in poverty. He attended the finest schools in America, but he certainly didn't get into those schools because his parents were alumni.

McCain's acceptance to Annapolis was almost certainly guaranteed with a father and grandfather who were graduates and admirals. I'm not saying he couldn't get in on his own merits (don't really know), but it didn't really matter.
