I've been home for two days myself. Spent most of Monday night at the
hospital with Mom, got in bed at 3:00am, stayed home yesterday. Woke
up this morning with the "runs" and just didn't feel trying to drive 35
miles with no place to go to the bathroom between here and there so I
stayed home today.

Good thing you didn't work under Paul F.'s old boss.

Haven't held an office job for years, so I guess I'm out of date or something. Doesn't seem like such a good deal to me, having to work when you're home sick.

When I worked at the lab, my supervisor said he was surprised that I was sick one day and back to work the next. I told him I came back to work because I felt better. He said you need to take one day off because you're sick and the next day off to recuperate.

How can you argue with that kind of logic. Surprised he isn't running the company by now.

The same guy would question why I would come into work early. It wasn't against company policy. He just couldn't understand why I would come into work a half hour early. I always like to get a jump on the day and not feel like I was trying to catch up on everything.

You've really got to appreciate those kind of people when they're your superiors--it's like they actually have a heart and understand that work may not be the single most important part of your life.
