ALL THE TESTS ARE DONE!!!! Bone scan, MUGA (heart), Contrast scan (abdominal and chest) MRI, CAT, x-ray, blood work, plus out patient surgery for skin, breast, and lymph biopsies and the insertion of the "port" for administering chemo!! ALL DONE IN 5 WORKING DAYS!!!! Unreal! I've had friends who have had to wait 2-3 weeks just for any one of these tests.
My head is spinning from the speed at which my doctor and his staff have managed to "Get 'r Done".
Now it's a matter of my doctor and one of his oncologist colleagues to evaluate the test results, determine what kind of cancer(s) I have and plan a course of action. I meet with them next Tuesday (31st). I've been told to pack an overnight bag because they may start chemo that day or the next. WOW, Just WOW. I've never seen an "institution" move this fast.
The best part is, everyone I've encountered, from the valet parking guys to receptionists to technicians have ALL been kind and "involved". I've been treated like a "real person" and not a piece of meat. Smiles every where from people who know, understand and really CARE! I am so grateful!
Again, to all my buddies here, both sides of the political aisle, I can't tell you how much your thoughts and prayers have meant. Some of you have posted on my
BLOG PAGE and I've finally gotten a chance to respond. (New photo just went up showing all my crazy sisters who have been so fun and supportive through all this).
