The H2 is simply a Suburban with an ugly and cramped body bolted on top. It is not a good offroad vehicle because the suspension parts are too lightweight for the load. The suburban is a better vehicle. The H3 is similar and smaller, based on a pickup.

Neither of them have any relation to the military humvee or to the H1 (a humvee converted to street use and out of production for the last three years.

The H3 gets better mileage than a Mercedes E63, Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl. Saabs and many vans and full sized pick-ups.
Not much better, but it's not the vilified fuel whore pundits and haters make it out to be. One can do much worse for less money.

The H3 isn't even in the same class as most of those vehicles, heck the E63 is a 500 hp high performance sedan. It has way less cargo capacity (63 cu ft) than even the miniscule and thrifty Toyota RAV 4 (73 cu ft) so comparing it to full size vans and pickups is not appropriate. It is simply not a practical vehicle...all show and no go.

Not quite the "buy our tanks from China" metaphor, but close!

A Sprinter van has 500+ cubic feet of cargo space and isn't in the same class, either.
Woohoo.
