Weeds coming up between pavers
#11
If you don't mind using strong chemicals, there are some that will make it so that nothing grows there for a year or so. BTW, if you have sand between the pavers, you will always have weeds that will grow there. I have landscape fabric with a layer of stone over top in a dry creek bed feature, no dirt at all on top, and weeds still come up here and there.

Here's one version of the long term weed killer, there are others, too.

Thanks, all.

Rhonda, that Liqua Thol K stuff looked perfect...until I saw the price. Yowsa! I know, I know, I guess you get what you pay for. What I want to know is why the hell I can't grow anything green where I want to, but it manages to find its way between pavers. Sheesh.

Check the Home Depot or Lowes. IIRC, they have something similar and I bet it will cost less.

Generic glyphosate is basically the same theing as round up at half the price. I just bought a quart of concentrate
for $7 at the farm store today and that's enough to make about 6 gallons worth.

My uncle lives in an old part of town that still has brick sidewalks. I sprayed his earlier this year
and they are still clean. On the other hand I have an area out back where we park the sail boat that is about
4" of crushed stone dust and I have to spray it a couple times a year to keep a certain weed at bay.

Round Up works well for about 3 months.

Bleach works great for at least 6 months.

Round up kills anything you spray the leaves with

Bleach everything in the soil so be careful not to get it near the edges, grass, trees etc. If it soaks into the ground near a tree, even a large tree, it can kill it.

There is some disagreement over the safety of long term use of glyphosate products. Distilled vinegar to kill them salt in the cracks as a soil sterillizer. Don't broadcast the salt on concrete pavers because it can stain or damage some pavers and can cause spall.
