What is your fave treasure bought when crossing to the US from Mexico?

One has "luggage" and the other has "baggage" . . . there must be a story there, somewhere? :gears:

Mine, too. And worth every penny. Married 27 years next month.

A nice leather gym bag.

Hey, I was 20, and we only had an hour to walk around Tijuana before we had to walk back across the border and get rolling for the 16 hour drive home. Didn't have time to properly explore other "options".

A couple people did try to sell us children though. We passed on 'em... figured customs would probably confiscate them anyway. And what would we do with 'em anyway?

Yeah, but I bet you're paying through the nose now.

Got a switchblade from Mexico (it'd work but I'd guess it's 50/50 on whether I'd lose a finger in the process). Always wanted a knuckleduster from there, too.

Lessee. There's that nice female leaning against the door.

And that cool cowl vent is open. Old 2-seater T-birds had 'em on the sides, behind the front wheel. Not so great on a dusty road.

The headlight bezels are chrome on the top one. Weren't they painted originally?

Oh, she'll thank you for that compliment.

OK, Good Job! You got the big one. The headlamp bezels are from a '61/62. From '58 - '60 they were chrome. Ditto the grille, but I don't fault anyone for missing that - the toothy look is barely visible in the top picture, and I did ask for differences, not what year the parts were from. Also, the wheel covers are from the later model with vents at the outer edge, used in 59-62. Stopping wasn't too good on those old Vettes and the vent slots helped a little. Finally, the aluminum plate behind the Corvette emblem is painted body color. Can't see that on the top photo, but just to point out the changes I made. Here's one with the aluminum color backplate

Speaking of the old T-Birds, I never did figure out how to get into one - always took me a half hour. If I got my a$$ in first, I couldn't get my legs beneath the steering wheel without being caught inder the clutch and brake pedals. The automatics were just as bad with the wide brake pedal. If I went in legs first, well, half the time I wound up sitting on the pavement. I always asked the short guys to drive them in.
