AP - Obama, Dems consider pared-down health care bill
#11
The good thing is that the fall of America is extremely well documented on all of the electronic media-- future historians and anthropologists ought to have a fairly easy time piecing it all together if even a small percentage of the data survives.

I'm amazed that people here still find the republicans to blame for the failure of a democrat SuperMajority to pass the health care reform bill.

Mac-
It's because the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for it. Regularly. And, of course, our loyal unbiased media is eating it up.

because almost no one likes their insurance company.

How do you know that? If it was true that sentiment would creep into their views of healthcare as a whole. 85% of those who have coverage are satisfied. I would pick some other issue to work on. In the end people vote their own interests.

People tend to dislike their insurance companies because they profit on people's health, and oftentimes "health" is synonymous with "ill health" and the attendant misery. Who would not feel some ill will (pun intended) toward those at the top of the insurance company food chain?

FWIW, not all insurance companies are evil but for some reason the Party of No Solutions has sidled up to those companies, holding them close to their bosom while decrying "government involvement" in the health care system. Makes a lot of sense.

Not.

I have said it before. Insurance is either a private enterprise or it is not. If it is, it will be subject to all the rules that make a business run. If you want free healthcare for all(that is the end game, you just don't want to admit it yet), find healthcare workers who will work for free.

Before accusing Republicans for cozying up to insurance industry, it was the big pharma that days before the election was throwing fund raising parties for Coakley.

Oh please, nearly every senator and representative is bought and paid for on both sides of the aisle or this would've passed 40 years ago. Bunch of crack whores. It is time for a wholesale change.

This nation will eventually collapse under its own weight and the SC decision today to let ALL the pimps into bed with ALL the whores, unrestricted. Goodnight, America. It was wonderful knowing you.
