the same as you,I have good memories of eating tons of little fried fish in Europe and it would have been tempting to pop those puppies into the deep fryer. but from an unkown source, I agree, it would be a little weird.

I remember fishing for smelt with my father in the '50's. We would bring a 30 gallon garbage can to the river and dip net all night long or until the can was full. They were a nuisance to clean but great eating. We would freeze them and then eat them all year long. Those days are long gone:
