Yellow bird weekend
#1
Right now the western tanagers are in town, they stop over here in Portland for a few weeks in the spring before heading up into the mountains for the summer. I made a foray out to the wildlife refuge to try and get some pix, but all I got was a few frustrating glimpses of them through the trees. When I got home I was sitting out on the back porch and noticed a pair in my trees...

Then this little Wilson warbler practically hopped into my lap.

Then a yellow warbler:

Nice pics. We've got a few goldfinches here (eastern MA) that seem partial to the sunflower seeds in our feeder.

Canon 50D, 100-400L, thanks. Pretty nice when I can sit on the porch with a cold beer and get pix like these. Don't have to get my shoes all muddy

Help yourself, I'm flattered. And yeah, the glass cost more than the camera, but I've had it several years and used a rebate when I got it so I'm not into it near as much as I would be buying it now. The micro adjustment option on the 50D really helped with the sharpness, but I think I have a pretty fair copy of that lens as it is, after I figured out how to use it.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. Appreciated. This has been a great spring for birds, seen more variety in the backyard then ever before. Don't know why.

Awesome ~!~ Really hot stuff Wags~!~ I particularly loved the Blue Heron with wings spread and it's. reflection in the water. I need a lens like that for my 20D.

I would love a copy of the Blue Heron *(:>*
