Wow. You people are too nice.
I don't use the phrase itself, "I told you so" but I almost always remind them that I advised against doing something. Maybe they'll give my opinion more weight next time.

there are times when it's the exactly right thing to do and times when it is exactly the wrong thing to do...
that said, I'll do it as often as possible...

What Buzz said. IMHO it is utterly crass to say those words or anything close. It is far better to let the other person come to their own realization that you told them so, with no help from you.
